# Mint with x402
Pay with USDC from the minting page. No mint transaction to send, no ETH or POL needed for gas.

x402 is an extra way to mint, next to the usual wallet mint, credit card, and any-payments. Collectors start on **your minting page**. We then send them to the NFTs2Me x402 gateway to pay in USDC and receive the NFT.

### What is x402?
[x402](https://www.x402.org) is an open payment protocol for the web (HTTP `402 Payment Required`). In NFTs2Me it means:
1. The collector stays on the **minting page** to pick the collection and how many NFTs to mint.
2. They continue with **x402**. We open the x402 gateway (`x402.nfts2me.com`) for that collection.
3. They pay the mint price **in USDC** by signing a payment (they do **not** send the mint transaction themselves).
4. NFTs2Me verifies the payment and mints on-chain in **one atomic transaction**. The NFT arrives in the wallet that signed.
Creators still receive the mint fee in the token they configured on the collection (USDC or the network’s native coin). Collectors always pay USDC on x402.

### Who is it for?

Great for AI agents. Collectors still need a wallet that can sign (Browser wallet, Coinbase Wallet, and the options shown on the paywall). What they **don’t** need is ETH/POL in that wallet to pay for the mint transaction: NFTs2Me submits it.

### What collectors see on the minting page
Nothing changes in how you share the collection: `https://.nfts2.me` (or your custom domain).
On the minting page they:
1. See the collection (logo, name, supply, phases) as usual.
2. Choose **how many NFTs** to mint.
3. Choose **x402** as the payment method (alongside wallet / card / any-payments, when those are available).

x402 is available when the collection is on a **supported network** and the mint price is **USDC** or the **native coin** of that network. Other ERC-20 mint fees are not charged through x402 yet.

### Price: what they pay vs what you receive
x402 **always charges the collector in USDC**.

The **0.01 USDC** line is the x402 service fee (can be turned off at gateway level). It is not the NFTs2Me protocol fee of the collection.
### For collection creators
You do **not** deploy a second contract for x402. Collectors still use **your minting page**. We only host the payment + mint.
#### When x402 can be offered
* Collection on **Base** or **Polygon** (use **Base Sepolia** to try the flow with testnet USDC).
* Mint asset is **USDC** or **native**.
* Minting is **open** (public phase). Whitelist / closed / minter-only phases usually **won’t** work, because the mint is executed by the x402 forwarder to the collector’s address.

#### What you should tell your audience
Share the **minting page** URL, not the gateway URL. Example:
* Minting page: `https://yourcollection.nfts2.me`
* Gateway (opened by us): `https://x402.nfts2me.com/x402mint/8453//1`
Agents and integrators can call the gateway URL directly; humans should start on the minting page.
#### Branding on the paywall
The 402 page uses the **name** and **logo** from the minting page (same data as `MintingPages`). If those are missing, a generic NFTs2Me fallback is shown.

### AI agents
Each collection+amount is advertised as an x402 resource ([Bazaar](https://docs.x402.org/extensions/bazaar.md)): name, icon, description, and how many NFTs the `amount` path parameter means.
An agent does not need the minting page HTML. It can:
1. Discover the resource.
2. Pay the `402` requirements in USDC.
3. Receive the same mint result (`mintTxHash`, explorer URL).
Humans should still enter from the minting page so they see supply, traits, and your branding first.
### What happens on-chain (short)
You can skip this as a collector. It is the reason x402 mints are safe to retry.

The USDC `payTo` is NFTs2Me’s **forwarder** on that chain, not a random EOA. Charge and mint go together.

### FAQ
**Do I need ETH or POL?**\
Not to pay for the mint transaction. You need **USDC** on the collection’s network. Keep a little native coin in the wallet only if your wallet app requires it for unrelated actions.
**Where does the NFT go?**\
To the address that signed the USDC payment.
**Can I pay with the native coin on x402?**\
No. x402 on NFTs2Me is USDC-only for the collector. If your collection is priced in ETH/POL, we quote that to USDC on the paywall. You still receive native on-chain as configured.
**Can I pay with another ERC-20 or USDG?**\
Not yet. Use the normal minting page wallet mint (or any-payments) for those.
**The paywall says the network or collection isn’t supported.**\
x402 is live on Base, Polygon, Arc and Base Sepolia. The mint fee must be USDC or native. Other chains or tokens: use the standard mint on the minting page. If you need other network support, let us know on the email below.
**I signed but I don’t see the NFT.**\
Open `etherscanTxUrl` from the success screen. If the transaction succeeded, wait for indexing and refresh the minting page connected with the **same** wallet. If it failed, you were not charged (atomic mint). For a stuck or confusing error, email with the minting page URL, amount, and tx hash if you have one.
**Whitelist / allowlist**\
x402 mints as a public mint to the signer. If the collection is in a whitelist-only phase, x402 will typically fail. Open a public phase, or mint with a wallet that is already eligible on the minting page.
